SUMMER 2003: MEETING WITH UNITED MEMBERSHIP SECRETARY

The committee of the association went to England for a couple of weeks in August. Being Members of Manchester United we managed to see the Community Shield match and the opening game at Old Trafford against Bolton. We also met the secretary of the Membership Office, which was very encouraging for the association.

The president of the association (right) presented our plans to the Membership Secretary of United, who seemed highly interested. Manchester United are ready to see us create the French Branch of Manchester United Supporters Clubs and are ready to help us succeed in our project. Therefore, we propose a new membership system which enables you to choose the membership that suits you. You can become a Member of Manchester United and you could see games at Old Trafford. And more!

3rd/4th April 2004
Opening of the United Soccer School in Disneyland Resort Paris

Everything started the Saturday morning. We were asked to go and change in the brand new changing rooms of the Marina building to prepare for a very special trainaing session. Shooting past Tim Howard, dribbling through the figurines of Keane and Scholes, passing the ball like Rio Ferdinand...

Just the time for a shower and we met up in a pub in Disney Village to see THE MATCH.
A few tense moments but then came the goal by Paul Scholes. From then on, Arsenal had no chance even though Henry, Kanu and Reyes came on, United had ended the chances of an Arsenal Treble.

It will be United's 15th appearance in a FA Cup final, the first in Cardiff. United's opponents will be the tough side of Millwall. And already fans are asking for tickets on our e-mail!

No time for a break, and after an interview on Sky Sports News, we were back on the synthetic pitch of the Soccer School to salute Sir Bobby Charlton, very happy to hear about a French Supporters club.

Then arrived the King Eric Cantona like a viking, with the beard and the long hair in the wind of Marne la Vallée. He showed that he's still got it in a little kick about with the Under 10 of the United Academy. He met up with his friends David Ginola and Daniel Bravo but was always interrupted for interviews. Meanwhile, we presented ourselves to the media and were asked a few interviews and even a song so we didn't disappoint when we chanted We love United.

In the evening, everyone was invited to a gala dinner in the Walt Disney Studio 1. Louis Saha, Wes Brown, Mickael Silvestre and David Bellion were the special guests after they flew from Birmingham with wife and children. We were at the table of staff of the Soccer School.

On the Sunday morning was the official opening ceremony of the Soccer School, which aims to make the dreams of children come true. But for the moment, we are in dreamland, just time to take another picture with David and Mikael.

What a wonderful week end! We'd like to thank United and Disneyland for the memories.

07/08 mai: Last trip to Old Trafford this season for the Chelsea match

Musc France's committee went to Old Trafford for the Chelsea game to help David Blatt promote his new book "Manchester United ruined my wife" by distibuting cards around the satdium before and after the game.

From 10:00 we were positionned around the stadium. Some laught at seeing the title of the book qhile others gave the card to their wife.

Just before kick off David went missing. He was attending the AGM of Shareholders United, which MUSC France will soon join.

12:30 Off we go! The game wasn't very entertaining but Old Trafford's faithfuls produced an emotional atmosphere for the last home game of the seaon. The draw didn't spoil the "tour d'honneur" and Sir Alex's traditionnal end of season speach.

STANDARD'S OPEN DAY

MUSC-France is proud to be present at the STANDARD ATHLETIC CLUB’s Open Day on 27th June from 2pm (free entrance - Route Forestière du Pavé de Meudon - F92360 Meudon La Forêt).

In the heart of Meudon Forest, the Club is the oldest football club in France along Le Havre AC. It was founded in 1892 by British residents. The Standard conrtibuted to the foundation of the first ever league in France, which they won in 1894 and 1895 then in 1897 and 1898. Standard’s old enemy was then le Stade Francais.

The Standard is one of the 48 clubs that played the very first Coupe de France in 1917-1918. Standard reached the last 64 in 1925 and 1926.

It seemed natural that with such an historic past MUSC-France created in 2003 should be a partner of the Standard “Open Day”

The Standard is now a omnisport Bristish club where not only football is played, but also cricket.

The Open Day will see the « Lord’s Taverners » take on a French Invitation Xl in an exhibition cricket match, to celebrate the Centenary of the Entente Cordiale. Stade Francais’s Fabien Galthié is one of the celebrities that will be present.

MUSC-France invites you to the Open Day where you will be able to meet us.

All the profits will be donated to Cancer research.
